Sunny 16 Rule

If You don't have a light meter

The sunny 16 Rule
Set Shutter Speed to the ISO equivalent
ISO 125 - 1/125 shutter speed

Set the aperture depending on the weather

F5.6 Miserable day
F8.0 Cloudy
F11 Cloudy but Sunny
F16 Bright Sun(Beach, Snow)
